Architecture Club

Architecture Club introduces pupils to the exciting world of how buildings are created, developing skills in drawing, designing and model-making, as well as learning key technical vocabulary. Pupils consider various design briefs and imagine their own responses, working from conceptual ideas through to creating measured scale drawings and models. There is also an emphasis on History of Architecture, with students learning about different periods of history or different cultures, and how Architecture is a visual language that can express a multitude of intentions.

Recent projects have included using lino-cut stamps to design Gothic or Neo-Classical facades, and working in groups to design bridges based on arch, suspension, truss or cantilever models.
