Beyond the Classroom

Sixth Formers play a leading role in the co-curricular life of Hampton. Whether competing at the top level of school sport, taking centre stage in major drama productions, performing in our outstanding musical ensembles or leading one of the many clubs and societies on offer, senior pupils help shape the vibrant culture of the School.

Extensive and varied, Hampton offers countless opportunities to broaden horizons, develop lifelong interests and leave your mark on the School community.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Hampton was one of the first schools to run the Duke of Edinburgh's scheme and over the years thousands of pupils have completed their DofE awards. Sixth Form sees many Hamptonians embark on their Gold Award the highest level of the DofE programme

Clubs & Societies

Among the 130+ clubs and societies on offer at Hampton, a number are specifically geared towards our senior pupils. Hamptonians with a particular interest can also apply to set up their own club and many senior pupils play an active role in running the weekly clubs. You can get a full break down of what is on offer on the Clubs & Societies page but see below for a flavour of the options for Sixth Formers:

Hampton Sports Chronicle

Published annually across the past 20 years, Hampton Sports Chronicle (HSC) is fantastic training for anyone interested in writing or journalism and passionate about sport. Led by Sixth Form editors, the magazine and website offer analysis and insight into the year’s achievements and introduce readers to many fascinating individuals who have excelled in their chosen sport.

Model United Nations

Hampton runs one of the most active Model United Nations societies in the UK.  Pupils take part in a range of MUN conferences across the country during the year. Sixth Form debaters take a key role in the delegations, setting an excellent example to the younger years.

Genocide80Twenty

Led by Sixth Formers, the pupil campaign group’s mission is to raise awareness of the incidents of genocide that have occurred, and are still taking place, since the Second World War. The group research and raise awareness of the issues, speak with experts and meet with remarkable survivors. Their work has been praised by politicians, leading journalists, charities and dignitaries and continues to reach thousands of young people worldwide.

Senior Writers' Room

Hosted in our purpose-built writing space, this is a weekly club for those who enjoy exploring language, storytelling, and original ideas. Whether you’re working on short fiction, poetry, scripts, or experimental writing, this is a relaxed but focused environment where you can develop your voice and try out new styles. We regularly enter national competitions – often with great success!

Combined Cadet Force

The Hampton Combined Cadet Force (CCF) promotes the qualities of responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness endurance and perseverance as well as being great fun. Run on a Friday afternoon in conjunction with pupils from neighbouring Hampton High and LEH, it offers senior Hamptonians a wide range of leadership opportunities.
