Hampton School’s first Maths Wizard online challenge was a great success, with three primary school pupils crowned champions.

Isabella from Nelson Primary School, Alex from Buckingham Browne & Nichols School and Kavin from St Andrew’s & St Mark’s C of E Junior School were announced as the Summer term winners. The three pupils have been crowned ‘numbers whizz’ champions thanks to their ability to answer all questions correctly in the online competition.

The pupils took part in the Maths Wizard online challenge – a challenge set up by Hampton School’s Maths Department that has been designed to engage young mathematicians. A range of fun and challenging puzzles are set each week and the answers (with workings) are posted on Hampton School website the following week. Correct answers earn points with high scoring Wizards securing a place on the Wizard leaderboard and winners receiving prizes.

In total, 53 pupils entered the primary school challenge from various schools, which is aimed at instilling a love of Maths and provides enthusiastic mathematicians with the opportunity to put their problem-solving skills to the test.

The Maths Wizard online challenge will run again during the Autumn term 2019-20 and any primary school pupil in Year 4 to 6 can take part. Please visit the link below for further details:
