Welcome to the Third Year Blog!

This is the first of our weekly blogs that will feature news of all the fantastic things the Third Years have been up to. The boys have made a great start so far and we look forward to seeing them shine in the classroom and beyond as the term progresses. Most clubs and activities began next week so do get involved and make the most of the opportunities Hampton offers.

On Tuesday, New Boys Morning took place and we welcomed 80 new Third Year pupils to Hampton School. This gave the boys an opportunity to meet their Tutors, find their Form Rooms, decipher their timetables as well as explore the School. Many of the new boys then went on to either enjoy their afternoon on the 3G pitches with their rugby and football coaches.

Wednesday saw the start of term for the whole School, when we welcomed last year’s Second Year boys into the Third Year. New homework diaries were issued, the School Code was discussed and sports options were finalised. The boys enjoyed the full School assembly, in which they heard about the excellent GCSE and A Level results achieved last year and the various trips that ran through the summer holiday. The Headmaster reminded pupils that a ‘balanced approach works best for Hamptonians, and that everyone should get as involved as possible in the wider life of our School.’

Hampton’s inaugural Lower School Co-Curricular Fair took place on Friday lunchtime and Third Year pupils had the opportunity to explore the breadth and depth of clubs on offer, ranging from Film Making to Architecture Club, Debating, Bridge and Model Aviation Club. Be brave and try lots of new clubs over the term ahead!

Don’t forget that next Thursday 12 September is Third Year Teambuilding day! Remember it’s a mufti day (check the weather forecast for appropriate clothing/water bottles/hats/sun cream etc.) Have a great weekend!
