It is hard to believe we are only two weeks away from the First Year boys completing their first half term at Hampton! School life continues to move apace and the boys are doing an excellent job at keeping up. They seem to know their way around and are getting to know more boys within the Year group and it is lovely to see so many friendships blossoming.

Firstly, congratulations to Danny S (1P) on being awarded Tutee of the Week on account of his excellent attitude towards School life so far and demonstrating real enthusiasm for everything that is on offer at Hampton. Well done, Danny!

It has been excellent to hear that the boys are keeping very busy with their sports and clubs, we were particularly delighted to hear of Rajat M’s (1L) recent chess achievements. Rajat made it to the 4NCL International Chess Open in Nottingham, where competitors included three Grandmasters and a number of International Masters. Rajat achieved a superb 9th place, out of 50 competitors and even managed to beat a FIDE Master en route! This is a superb achievement and we wish Rajat the very best of luck in his future tournaments. Well done, Rajat!

It seems a long time since Avon Tyrrell, but it was lovely to be reminded of all the fun we had when watching a video of the boys’ escapades, which was taken when we were down there. If you would like to get an insight into what your son got up to on the trip, do follow the link below:

Thank you to everyone who came to the HSPA and Avon Tyrrell information evening on Monday, too. We hope that you enjoyed seeing the photos of the boys’ time there.

The boys are clearly enjoying their co-curricular activities very much and they are doing great things on the sports pitch. Ben T (1P), captain of the Under 12D football team, sent this report of last weekend’s match:

The U12D team’s first match took place against the Radnor House B Team. The final score was 7-2 and it was an amazing game from everyone. The goal scorers were Rohan K (1H) (with a hat trick), James M (1L) (with two goals) and George C (1L) and Fahad H (1L) (with one each). Overall, it was a great team performance and the D team is looking good.

As the weekend beckons, please do send back any Parents Pastoral Forum appointment requests to your son’s Form Tutor as soon as you can. Appointments are filling up! Good luck to all the boys who are involved in sporting fixtures this weekend – we look forward to hearing about their results on Monday!

Miss G. Russell
