I am sure that you will join me and a my fellow First Year Tutors by saying how much we will miss Mrs Peattie, as she goes on Maternity leave at the end of today. She is a brilliant Head of Year, and I know that we all wish her well on this next exciting adventure!

On the sporting front things have been busy of late. In Football the U12A team had a narrow loss to Trinity School, Croydon 3-4 on Thursday. The U12B team also lost narrowly 2-3 after extra-time to Bishop Challenor’s School. Although the boys will have been disappointed they can take heart in the fact that they reached the semi-final of the ESFA cup – a fantastic achievement in only their first year here at Hampton. Meanwhile, the U12Cs beat St John’s Leatherhead 12-0 – what a fantastic result. In Rugby the U12B team had a tight 0-0 draw with Ibstock Place’s U12A team last week. Good luck to all boys involved in fixtures this weekend.

On the creative front, well done to Thomas E and Ishaan D who were runners-up in this years’ Creative Writing Awards in the Poetry and Prose categories respectively.

It was also great to see so many boys contributing to this week’s Science Fair, not only by producing some outstanding projects, but also by going along and supporting those that had. Well done to all those who entered the competition.

On a final note, congratulations to Finlay W who is Tutee of the Week, his award is a result of his all-round enthusiasm for Hampton life, and the kindness and consideration he shows towards his peers. Well done Finlay – a great achievement!

I look forward to welcoming the boys back for one more week before a well-earned holiday!

Mr T. Hill
