Welcome to the First Year Blog!
Well done to all the boys on making it to the end of their first summer assessment week at Hampton! The boys have dealt with the assessments brilliantly, and we have been so impressed by their focus and positivity this week. While the boys were unable to enjoy their sports afternoon fully on Monday due to poor weather, they were able to participate in Interform athletics on Wednesday, and enjoyed the chance for a change of scene and some healthy competition! The boys have certainly earned their break over half term; with only four weeks to go when they return, they are very near the end of a very unusual first year at Hampton. Have a lovely half term, boys!

Interform Athletics
Lucas S-T (1P) reports back on interform athletics, which was delayed from Monday due to poor weather:
On Wednesday, the First Year boys had a break from the assessments with an interform athletics competition! The boys participated in a range of field and track events like 800 meters and long jump. We started off cheering for the hurdle runners, although some fell over! Then we started going about and doing our sports. Finally, we ended with a relay between the classes to finish off. The boys were very energetic and were making lots of noise! In the end, we had great fun and it’s always nice to have a break from the assessments!
Take a look at some of the action out on the School fields:
VOYAGE OF DISCOVERY TOUR
We are excited to launch our new 360° digital Voyage of Discovery tour this week and thought you may like to have a go. The tour invites users to collect hidden items, earn Explorer Badges and answer tricky conundrums while exploring Hampton – a great way to find out why it’s such a great place to come to school! Although the tour is aimed at younger boys who are thinking of joining Hampton we thought current Hamptonians might enjoy it too!
Coasteering Adventure
There were some very excited First Years ready and raring to go on their very first Hampton trip. A weekend of adventure awaits as the boys try their hand at abseiling, climbing and canoeing. Have fun boys!
SPECIAL SHOUT OUTS!
We love to hear about what you have been getting up to outside of school. Please do send any information about any of your achievements through to Mrs Ziegler (h.ziegler@hamptonschool.org.uk).
