Hampton School Boat Club enjoyed a highly successful weekend at the National Schools’ Regatta 2026, with crews delivering a series of outstanding performances at Dorney Lake.

The prestigious three-day regatta, the highlight of the domestic junior rowing calendar, saw Hampton rowers competing across 11 boats, racing against the very best school crews from across the country.

Hampton’s crews rose to the occasion, securing multiple podium finishes across a range of age groups. Among the standout results, the J14 1st 8x+ claimed a well-earned bronze medal, while the J16 squad impressed with both the 1st 8+ and 2nd 8+ boats reaching the podium, securing bronze and silver respectively.

A particular highlight came in the Championship 8+, where Hampton delivered an outstanding performance to take bronze in a time of 5:46.79 — the fastest time ever recorded by a Hampton Eight, underlining the strength and progress of the senior squad.

Across the regatta, Hampton crews demonstrated depth, resilience and technical quality, with strong performances throughout the programme reflecting the continued development of the Boat Club.

Off the water, the Hampton and Holles Boat Club Association once again played a vital role in supporting the event, catering for over 500 rowers, parents, coaches and guests across the weekend, helping to create a welcoming and well-supported environment for all involved.

With Henley Royal Regatta fast approaching, Hampton’s rowers will look to build on this momentum as the season reaches its final and most competitive stage.

This was a brilliant regatta for Hampton, with all 1st and 2nd VIIIs reaching A Finals and a medal haul that reflects the strength and depth of the squads.

Our rowers should be hugely proud — their performances were built on real commitment, determination and a clear enjoyment of racing. Given the exceptionally high standard this year, to be competing at the very front of the field is a significant achievement.
