Hampton welcomed over 100 junior pupils from 31 partner schools for an exciting day of collaborative music making.

Young musicians from primary and prep schools across the local area came together with Hamptonians to rehearse several pieces of music, culminating in a celebratory concert at the end of the workshop. Led by Hampton’s Music Department, pupils took part in a series of inspiring masterclasses in singing, brass, woodwind, percussion and strings before uniting for full ensemble rehearsals.

After working hard during rehearsal sessions, the young instrumentalists and singers entertained family and friends in a lively celebration concert. The choristers performed a song from the hit musical Matilda, while the Strings group delivered a rousing rendition of the Can Can. The Brass, Woodwind and Percussion Ensemble followed with a spirited performance of I Got Plenty O’ Nuttin from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, before all ensembles joined forces for a full orchestral performance of the Match of the Day theme

The concert concluded on a high note with a joyful performance of How Far I’ll Go from Moana bringing all the performers together on stage.
