Lower Sixth pupil Teddy has been awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, one of the most prestigious accolades for aspiring engineers in the UK.

The Arkwright Engineering Scholarships inspire and support talented young people with the potential to become future leaders in the field of engineering. This year saw over 1,500 applications for the award, with successful candidates identified through a rigorous selection process. Applicants submit a detailed engineering or technology project, complete a two-hour aptitude assessment, and, for the highest scorers, attend an online interview focused on their practical work.

Administered by the Smallpeice Trust (the UK’s largest STEM educational charity) and supported by external sponsors, Teddy is thrilled to have secured a full scholarship for the duration of his Sixth Form studies. The award provides a wealth of enrichment opportunities, including a financial grant to invest in STEM-related activities, access to industry experience days, and academic and career guidance from a personal mentor. Looking ahead, Teddy hopes to pursue mechanical engineering at university, with a particular interest in motorsport.
