After a fantastic season of football, the Hampton U15A team competed in their second national final of the year, the English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) cup final.
Having made their way through 9 rounds, involving 655 teams, the Fourth Year team faced off against Wright Robinson College at The Hawthorns stadium, home of West Bromwich Albion FC. The team was accompanied by a crowd of over 100 supporters, who received praise from the stadium commentators for their constant support of the players.
A tough start led to Hampton being down 2-0 by half time, but the Fourth Years never gave up, leading to an equalising score of 2-2 at the final whistle. The U15A’s gave a strong performance, spurred on by their supporters However, a tense penalty shootout resulted in a win for Wright Robinson College.
