Hampton’s Senior Economists have put pen to paper and created the Hampton Economics Digest, a magazine looking at events and issues relating to the current global economic situation.
Supported and guided throughout by the Economics department, the team devised, organised and wrote the publication while managing their A Level studies and the start of their university application process. Articles in the inaugural publication investigated the history of global trade tariffs, the rise of AI in the workforce, as well as an insight into class equality in the UK.
Economics teacher, Mrs Eileen Mullan, praised the Hamptonians for their hard work in producing the topical magazine:
We are really proud of these young economists. Their focus on the world beyond the classroom, demonstrates a maturity beyond their years. The engagement, ambition and initiative they have developed at Hampton, gives them the skills to become global citizens, with real potential to make a difference.
The team of writers includes Lower Sixth Hamptonians Zaid Ahmed, Nathaniel Carson, Oli Hudson, Rohan Ladva, Alex Nelson and Alex Rust led by the magazine’s founder Charlie Childs, who has thoroughly enjoyed working on the inaugural editions of the publication:
Founding the Economics Digest has been an exciting challenge and a great experience. I have really enjoyed working with the team and look forward to building on what we’ve started!
