This year’s Sixth Form production received rave reviews as our senior dramatists entertained audiences with their version of the thought-provoking play 100.
Directed by Upper Sixth Form pupil Riz Sharma, the cast of seven senior pupils from Hampton and LEH told the story of the afterlives of four characters who, finding themselves in a mysterious ‘Void’, are informed by the equally enigmatic Guide that they must choose only one memory from their lives in which to spend eternity.
The play was performed on an almost bare stage, in the more intimate location of the Drama Hall, which allowed the actors to showcase their superb grasp of the script and the haunting exploration of life, death and those we leave behind. The actors had a superb rapport on stage, and dealt with the complex storytelling with energy, commitment and passion, and it was clear to see how much the young dramatists enjoyed the experience. The unique production left the audience to ponder their own memories, a powerful reflection of the outstanding performance.
The play’s director, Riz, congratulated the cast for their hard work and commitment:
Back to All ArticlesI have thoroughly enjoyed the talent my cast has to offer. Every rehearsal, their performance has become a better and better manifestation of our collective efforts. seeing the final play on stage was nothing short of incredible.
I have never been so proud and invested into seven extraordinary actors whose determination mirrored my own. I am grateful to have had this experience, and I hope it will not be my last as a director. Many thanks to the staff and cast for all their hard work.
