First Year Hamptonians enjoyed a homework-free week this term in order to focus on improving their cooking skills.
Pupils were encouraged to venture into the kitchen and create a meal from scratch for their family members, which reflected their culture or heritage. The wonderful range of meals produced by our budding chefs during Cooking Week will make up the ‘First Year Cookbook’. As well as being a lovely memento for pupils and parents to look back on, sales from the cookbook will raise funds for the School’s chosen Form Charity partners, which this year are Shooting Star Hospice, Alzheimer’s Society and UNICEF.
The week culminated in a whole-year tea party with Hamptonians bringing in homemade culinary delights to share with the rest of their form. From chocolate cup cakes to sausage rolls and apple pie to sushi, there were plenty of tasty treats for everyone to enjoy.
