The Hampton Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme continues to go from strength to strength, with 162 pupils enrolled for the Silver DofE Award this academic year, and 14 Hamptonians currently taking their Gold Award.
Hampton runs one of the biggest DofE programmes in the country because of the range of benefits the scheme offers including helping young people develop skills and confidence through a series of challenges. DofE also allows them to build teamwork, communication and leadership skills while improving stamina, self-reliance and fitness through the expedition challenges.
Last year, 12 Silver and Gold expeditions headed out to the New Forest, Dorset, the Lake District and Snowdonia with Hamptonians covering circa 20,000 kilometres, carrying their tents and provisions along the way.
