In common with the great majority of academically selective schools, we believe that A Levels currently offer the best post-16 education model and we offer an exciting and broad selection of subject choices. On joining the Sixth Form, pupils select four subjects with guidance from the academic and careers teams. You will pursue these subjects in far greater depth than any you have taken so far in your school career and therefore it is essential that you enjoy them and that they interest you.

Subject options
We offer 25 subjects to choose from. Pupils are encouraged to consider A Level choices that complement each other and are relevant for the path they may wish to take after Hampton. However, your fourth option, which is only studied for the Lower Sixth gives pupils an opportunity to try something completely different such as a linguistic, literary or creative option

In addition to their three main A Levels (or four if studying Further Maths), all Hamptonians choose one of three Elective routes to take through their Lower Sixth year. Our Electives programme provides pupils with an unrivalled opportunity to go beyond the confines ofA Level specifications, allowing every pupil to take an individual journey of learning and exploration through the Sixth Form
Academic Extension
Further academic enrichment and challenge is provided through The Hampton Extended Learning Programme Level 4 project, an independent piece of work on a topic which you particularly enjoy. This research together with the analytical, organisational and critical thinking skills that you will learn, will not only enhance your A level studies but also assist you in securing places at the world’s most competitive universities. These skills are also highly valued by employers looking for the next generation of innovators and leaders.
