Hampton’s linguists excelled at the 2024 Ibstock Place School Languages Debating Competition, with two teams winning their respective competitions.
Eleven senior Hamptonians represented the School, debating in French, German and Spanish. The linguists debated a range of motions which included whether social media does more harm than good and if defending one’s cultural heritage is bad for integration and diversity. All Hampton teams debated with impressive style, arguing with rigour and clarity and displaying exceptional oratorical skills.
Congratulations to Fifth Years Alex and Henry who were crowned winners in the French category and also to Upper Sixth Hamptonians Charlie and Rudy who were victorious in the Spanish debating event.
