Hampton welcomed over 150 junior pupils from 40 partner schools for an exciting day of music making.

Young musicians from primary and prep schools across the local area came together with Hamptonians to rehearse several pieces of music, which they performed in a concert to conclude the workshop. Led by Hampton’s Music Department, pupils participated in a range of masterclasses in singing, brass, woodwind, percussion and strings, before coming together to rehearse for the concert.

After working hard during rehearsal sessions, the young instrumentalists and singers entertained family and friends in a celebration concert which included the choristers performing Beyond the Sea, a rousing rendition of the Those Magnificent Men by the Brass, Woodwind and Percussion Ensemble, and a wonderful performance of Hungarian Dance No. 5 by the Strings group. The concert culminated in the combined orchestra playing the signature theme from the James Bond films and a fantastic rendition of Do-Re-Mi from The Sound of Music by all those on stage.
