Hampton’s Sevens’ squads have been on top form this season with excellent results across the year groups.

Our U13s won the Plate at the Warwick Sevens and were the team of the day at the Invitational Surrey VIIs, winning all of their matches. Coach Mr Gray reports that the Second Years capitalised on every opportunity to seal a series of superb wins.

At the John Fisher VIIs, it was the turn of the U15s to excel. After topping their groups with wins against Whitgift School, Royal Grammar School, Guilford, and Seaford College, the team then went on to beat Dulwich College in the semi-final setting up a final against Whitgift School. It was Hampton’s day with our Fourth Year boys chalking up a remarkable 47-0 win to take the trophy.

Our U14s had a successful day at the Warwick Sevens tournament progressing from their group and winning a pulsating quarter final in the cup against RGS High Wycombe before just falling short at the semi-final stage to a strong Sebergh School side.

Our First VII squad have also enjoyed an excellent Sevens season winning the Cup at the Middlesex VIIs Open after a dominant 31-5 victory against Wellington College in the final. This followed winning the Plate at our own Hampton Founders’ Day Sevens beating Epsom College in extra time.

We have also had success in the 15-a-side format of the game with our Second XV finishing their season with two good wins home and away against a strong Gordon’s School.

Director of Rugby, Mr Andy Beattie, commented:

WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED ON SOME EXCELLENT PERFORMANCES. WE NOW LOOK FORWARD TO OUR DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS PLAYING AT THE ROSSLYN PARK NATIONAL SEVENS, AS WELL AS A TRIP TO THE SEDBERGH TENS FOR OUR SENIORS.
