Hampton’s musicians excelled at the 2023 Kingston-upon-Thames Music Festival. The performing arts festival, which has been running for over 80 years, provides musicians of all ages the opportunity to perform in a range of categories in front of a small audience, as well as receive valuable feedback on their performance.

Among our clarinettists, Third Year Josh Gibbins won the Elementary Class; Lower Sixth Former Benedict Foley Cook the intermediate Woodwind Class; and Fourth Year Samuel Hughes the Advanced Woodwind Class and the Jennifer White Cup. The Poulenc Trio of Ishaan Das, Tomás Escobar and Rohan Crowe took the trophy in the Ensemble Any Age Class, while the String Quartet of Declan Goh, Harry Spence, Gabriel Porter and Jian Graffe won the Addison Deny Rosebowl for the best ensemble of the festival.

Congratulations to all Hamptonians who took part in this year’s festival.
