It was another successful day of debating for our Model United Nations (MUN) delegates at the 2023 Benenden School MUN conference.

MUN gives pupils the opportunity to engage in the key international issues of the day in a pupil-led simulation of the real United Nations. Ten Hamptonians from Third Year to Sixth Form debated thought-provoking topics including how to counter illicit arms trade, developing ethical AI regulations and tackling the misuse of emerging intelligent technologies. The pupils all debated with flair, with many proposing resolutions for debate, developing rigorous arguments, and forging useful alliances.

All the Hamptonians were superb ambassadors for their respective countries and took home two awards in committee. Noah K representing the Russian Federation, won best delegate in the Human Rights Committee, and Gabriel K, also representing the Russian Federation, won commended delegate in the Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee. A special commendation must also go to Third Year pupils Kiran G and Rory M, who were both attending their first MUN conference.
