Hampton School Art Teacher, Mr Adrian Bannister, has been selected to exhibit a piece of his artwork at this year’s Royal Academy (RA) Summer Exhibition, an annual celebration of art and creativity.

Held every year since 1769, the Summer Exhibition displays works in a variety of mediums and genres by leading artists, Royal Academicians and household names as well as new and emerging talent. This year’s exhibition has been co-ordinated by celebrated British painter David Remfry RA and explores the theme Only Connect, taken from the famous quote in Howards End by E.M. Forster. This year, over 16,500 submissions were whittled down by the panel of judges and 1,600 diverse works are now displayed across 13 rooms in the Central London gallery.

Mr Bannister’s piece of art, entitled Make a Change, is a lino cut inspired by the environment and depicts a back to basics lifestyle in nature. This is the third time the Hampton Art Teacher has had his work chosen to be displayed at the prestigious exhibition. Congratulations to Mr Bannister on his fantastic achievement.
