The world’s most famous puppet came to life on stage in the Lower School summer show Once Upon A Pine: The Adventure of Pinocchio.

This vibrant reimagining of Carlo Collodi’s classic tale of a wooden boy learning right from wrong transported the Hammond Theatre audience to a wonderful adventure of talking crickets, giant whales and circus spectacular. Aside from remembering their lines, the young actors learnt new circus skills, incorporating these into the show seamlessly to create new characters and scenes resulting in a truly unique retelling of Pinocchio.

Running across two evenings with a special sneak peek performance for one of our partner schools, Buckingham Primary School, the cast and crew brought barrels of enthusiasm to the Hammond Theatre stage.

Drama teacher and the show’s director, Miss Beth Tiller, praised the cast for their fantastic performances and professionalism:

Directing this production has been an absolute joy from start to finish. I AM SO IMPRESSED BY THE TALENT, ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM FROM THE PUPILS WHO HAVE CONTINUED TO WORK EXTREMELY HARD THROUGHOUT REHEARSALS TO PRODUCE THIS SHOW.
