Olivier Messiaen: Quartet for the End of Time

Hampton School Music Department is delighted to welcome a music quartet who will be performing Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time.
The is an eight-movement piece of chamber music written by the French composer Olivier Messiaen under the extreme conditions of a prisoner of war camp during World War II, and is filled with shimmering colours of sound, effervescent birdsong and apocalyptic visions. The quartet includes recent Hampton School alumni – pianist Joel Banerjee OH (2018) and clarinettist Thomas Knollys OH (2018).
