Lower Sixth Former, Finlay Wiseman, has been selected for the U18 England Squad competing in the International Series taking place in South Africa in August.

After an intense selection process, England U18 head coach Jonathan Pendlebury named his 26-player squad earlier today:

Congratulations to all players selected. it is recognition of the hard work they, their families, schools, junior and community rugby clubs, and academies have put in.  As we’ve seen in previous years, the tour of South Africa allows young men to develop in an international environment and come away with invaluable on and off pitch rugby experience.

Finlay, who is a stalwart of the Hampton First XV and who has been with the London Irish Academy since the age of 13, says he is thrilled to have been chosen for the England team:

I am really honoured to be able to represent my country and look forward to a successful tour.  My ambition is to become a professional player and so this is a wonderful opportunity to hone my skills and gain invaluable experience.

Director of Rugby at Hampton, Mr Andy Beattie, added his warm congratulations to the talented Hamptonian:

This is a wonderful achievement for Finlay to develop and experience his play on the national stage, and it is due recognition of all his hard work and dedication this season. We wish him all the best for the tour!
