Second Year Hamptonian Theo Tang has enjoyed recent success at The London Organ Competition 2022.
Held at St Clement Danes Church in London, the competition invites musicians to showcase their talent on the organ. The young organists were required to perform a piece by Bach, and a second piece of their own choice. Theo chose to play Ich ruf zu dir by Bach and Pasticcio by Jean Langlais. His performance in the competition secured him The Miley Cup, an award for the Best Rising Star aged 13.
Theo has also won the Harry Taylor Cup for Grades 1-4 in Organ at the Godalming Performing Arts Festival 2022, and hopes to repeat his success in the 2023 competition. Alongside Theo’s competition achievements, the Hamptonian has also been offered an organ scholarship at Christ Church in Esher.
