The First Year Dorset Adventure Society trip was an action-packed adventure of rock climbing, giant canoeing and more!

On the first weekend of half term, First Year Hamptonians travelled to Dorset to take part in a variety of activities, while staying at Brenscombe Activity Centre. After arriving in Dorset, pupils enjoyed a tour of the centre, before embarking on a hike to take in the stunning views of Corfe Castle at sunset. They then headed back to their accommodation for some much needed rest, ahead of a fun-filled day of activities.

The group of 29 Hamptonians took full advantage of the beautiful weather as they tackled sea cliff climbing up the challenging rock faces at Dancing Ledge on the Jurassic Coast. The pupils were treated to a day of rock climbing, abseiling and belaying, while being instructed by Brenscombe’s expert staff, as well as learning to paddle in the big canoes around Brownsea Island.

A highlight of the trip was a visit to the Mud Trail at Dorset Adventure Park, where the young adventurers mastered balance beams, cargo nets and mud slides. Big grins and mucky faces were seen throughout the day.
