Hampton’s Junior Swim team made the short trip to LEH School to compete in the Richmond Borough Swimming Gala.

A team of 13 First, Second and Third Year Hamptonians enjoyed a successful morning in the pool. Over 100 swimmers from ten schools across the local area took part in the gala, competing in events ranging from individual freestyle to medley relays.

First Year pupils Rahul Bansal and Brennan Coletta finished first in the Freestyle and Butterfly events, respectively, a feat matched by Second Year Fynn Adams in the Backstroke race. Third Year Maneet Bedi secured a gold medal in the Backstroke, and his classmate Daniel Metzgen also finished first in the Butterfly race. There was also success in the team events with a first place finish for our Third Year swimmers in both the Freestyle and Medley Relay events, alongside First Year Hamptonians who triumphed in the Freestyle Relay.

Director of Sport, Mr Carlos Mills, was delighted with the swimmers performance at the gala:

Hampton’s Junior Swim Team produced five individual first place finishes, as well as winning the Third Year Medley Relay and the First and Third Year Freestyle Relay events. For many of our swimmers this was only the second time they have competed in a swim competition for the School and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you to the LEH sports department for organising and hosting such a great Junior Swimming event.

Well done to all our swimmers who took part in the gala, and good luck for the rest of the year!
