First Years were joined by a collection of slithering snakes in Biology Club this week, as one of Hampton School’s Groundstaff, Mr Gareth Hunt, brought in some of his vast collection of ball pythons.

Mr Hunt breeds genetically engineered ball pythons, to create snakes with unusual colours and patterns on their skin, and has a collection of over 50 snakes at home. Mr Hunt gave the budding biologists lots of fascinating facts about the reptiles including how they’re the most popular pet python in the world, as well as being very shy and friendly.

The First Year Hamptonians then had the opportunity to handle the snakes, including some very special ones which were in the black and yellow colours of Hampton School.
