Hamptonians gathered for the inaugural taster sessions of The Writers’ Room.

Budding writers met in the newly renovated room for the first taster sessions of The Writers’ Room. Pupils expressed their creativity through a series of collaborative and individual writing tasks. Second Years Afalyan and Sriyan thoroughly enjoyed the club

We think it is a marvellous way to encourage our creative writing skills and a way to develop our imaginations and to be able to transform our ideas into writing.

In their sessions Lower School pupils selected a curious item from a cabinet of curiosities, and created an imaginative story around it. They presented their endeavours and shared their ideas with the rest of the group. From ancient artefacts to magical gems, the boys’ stories were incredibly inventive and served as an excellent first meeting of the club.

Senior pupils had an engaging discussion on the power of a story, and which genres of writing they were most interested in.

The Writers’ Room will be running each week in Room 53 at 12:35pm, on Wednesday for First to Third Years and Friday for Fourth Year to Upper Sixth. Come along to a session and let your imagination run free!
