Hampton’s First XV have progressed to the last 16 of the RFU National Schools Cup competition after a hard-fought win against Dulwich College.

Both teams were neck and neck at the half time whistle with seven points apiece, but Hampton came back the stronger team in the second half dominating field position and scoring the decisive try to secure the win 14-7.

There was some good rugby on display despite the difficult conditions in the wet weather.

Hampton now face Harrow School in the coming weeks. The U18 RFU Schools Cup is the premier schools rugby competition in England, running over two terms with teams competing by region up until the quarter final stage when the tournament becomes national.

The final is hosted at Twickenham Stadium, while Saracens’ Allianz Park has hosted the semi-finals in recent years.
