Hampton’s Senior musicians excelled at this year’s Kingston-upon-Thames Festival of the Performing Arts.
Sixth Formers Edward Finnett (oboe) and Theo Shah (clarinet), along with Fifth Year pupils Theo Webb (clarinet) and Logan Herries (clarinet) performed their chosen piece in front of a panel of judges at the annual festival.
Logan was named winner of the intermediate class, while Edward was awarded first place in the advanced class. Logan was also named overall winner of the Jennifer White Cup for Woodwind and will now play at the prize winners concert in December.
Miss Joanna Estall, Head of Woodwind, congratulated the musicians on their achievement:
Back to All ArticlesI was very proud of the boys. They all performed their pieces with style and commitment. Mr Oyarzabal’s sensitive accompaniments were a great support too.
