First and Third Year Hamptonians performed an eclectic selection of music in the Hammond Theatre at this year’s New Boys’ Concert.

Musicians who have recently joined us in both First and Third Year took to the Hammond Theatre stage to entertain an audience with a carefully selected setlist of classic and contemporary performances.

First Year highlights from the evening included Aarav’s vocal cover of Lewis Capaldi’s Someone you Loved, Kiran’s double bass rendition of The Old Sea Dog and Charlie’s trombone performance of Send in the Clowns.

Among the pupils representing Third Year were Ethan, with a performance of James Brown’s I Got You (I Feel Good) on drums, and Aaryan’s rendition of the Pink Panther theme on saxophone. Well done to all our young musicians who performed at the concert.

First Year Hamptonian Charlie relished the experience:

I was nervous when I went on stage, but once I started it went very smoothly. It was amazing! The seats were full, and the lights were on me, and I’ve never felt anything like it!

Take a look at the video below to get a flavour of the evening:
