Hamptonians represented a range of countries as they attended the first Model United Nations (MUN) for over 18 months.

A team of 21 pupils attended Reigate Grammar School MUN representing the delegations of the UK, Turkey, Ethiopia and the DPR of Korea and received numerous awards for their excellent communication and debating abilities.

The ReiMUN is always a popular event where pupils are given the opportunity to act as world leaders in a series of debates on current affairs and global decisions. The MUN team showcased excellent debating skills as they discussed topics including electronic warfare prevention, Afghanistan, the regulation of cryptocurrency and xenotransplantation.

For some Hamptonians, it was their first time attending a MUN conference and it was particularly impressive to see the high level of debating, with some even managing to win awards.

Hampton picked up the following awards at the conference:

Highly Commended:
Suryaksh Tewatia
Vishal Shah

Outstanding:
Edmund Ng
Adam Sizoo
Tristan Robertson
Sam Govier

Hampton also achieved two Outstanding Team Awards. These teams were comprised of:

Suryaksh Tewatia, Adam Sizoo, Vishal Shah, Ali Eroglu and Sam Trotman (Turkey)

Sam Govier, Aadam Shahzad, Tristan Robertson, Edmund Ng, Luke Trotman and Jacob Cooney (UK)

Congratulations to everyone that was involved in the event!
