Ground-breaking Sixth Form Partnership

Partnerships

We are delighted to announce that Hampton School joins Reach Academy and Lady Eleanor Holles (LEH) as joint partners behind a ground-breaking new sixth form college for Feltham.

Opening in September 2022, Feltham College is an innovative model of post-16 education, based on an alliance of state and independent educators alongside leaders from the business and health sectors. It will be a centre of academic and vocational excellence offering choice and opportunity to the young people of Feltham.

Situated in the town centre, the new sixth form college campus will be affiliated to Reach Academy – already a renowned local education provider. In addition to classrooms and laboratories, facilities will include a restaurant and café, music rehearsal rooms and production studios, allowing pupils on vocational courses to gain real-life work experience.

All three founding partners, with the wholehearted support of their governing bodies, are committed to a local offer that is comprehensive and accessible. Feltham College will not select pupils by GCSE results and will offer A Level courses alongside vocational qualifications in music, catering, health and social care, with all courses having the same status and esteem.

Feltham College’s academic courses will be supported by Hampton and LEH – building on the relationship of trust that has developed at all levels over the past 9 years, and ensuring that across the board, academic courses are highly effective and set pupils up for success.

Vocational courses at Feltham College will be similarly supported by thriving partnerships: Kingston University and East London Arts & Music Academy, as well as Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and award-winning London restauranteur Jacob Kenedy will all provide valuable expertise and opportunities for the young people who attend the new college.

Our partnership’s shared ambition is for Feltham College to be a centre of academic and vocational excellence at the heart of Feltham, playing a key role in rejuvenating a historically deprived area of the UK and offering transformative opportunities to the young people of Feltham.

Rebecca Cramer, Executive Headteacher, Reach Academy commented: “At Reach we are committed to providing an exceptional education for young people in Feltham and this new college will add hugely to our capabilities. We have a long-standing and rich partnership with Hampton and LEH and are excited to see this grow and flourish.”

Hampton School Headmaster, Kevin Knibbs added: “We are delighted to be working in close partnership with our friends at Reach Academy and LEH on establishing this exciting new sixth form college in nearby Feltham. My colleagues and I are really looking forward to sharing our knowledge and experience of A Level teaching to help young people at the college realise their academic and all-round potential.”

Heather Hanbury, Headmistress of LEH believes Feltham College has the potential to become one of the foremost sixth form colleges in London. “Its unique approach and ambitious plans to support the education of 16-18 year olds in Feltham chime well with LEH’s own ethos and philosophy and gives young people with ambition, drive and aspiration the chance to study up to the highest level and gain entry to leading universities. We are delighted to play our part in the establishment of this exciting new college.”
