14-year-old Vaibhav Neela got the inspiration for his book Captain Catastrophe’s Great Catastrophe after entering Hampton School’s Creative Writing Challenge as a First Year. He picked up the story line once again during the pandemic and had the satisfaction of completing his first novel during the summer term.

Vaibhav self-published the adventure story on the Amazon website and has been delighted to see it doing well:

“I couldn’t quite believe it when I went online and saw my name in print – but even better is seeing people enjoy my work which is wonderful”

Vaibhav, who was awarded a Silver Arts Award for his achievement, believes that the Captain Catastrophe stories could run and run and is already planning the next book in the series.
