The First Year Coasteering trip to the Dorset Coast was an adrenalin-packed adventure.

Twenty young Hamptonians began their half term holiday with a multi-activity trip, taking part in activities ranging from rock climbing and abseiling to orienteering and canoeing. Taking full advantage of the beautiful weather, a highlight for the group was the Mud Trail at Dorset Adventure Park where the boys tackled balance beams, cargo nets and mud slides, the objective being to get as muddy as possible!

Joint Head of First Year, Mrs Vicky Halford, accompanied the Hamptonians on their first residential trip and was delighted with how the boys embraced the activities on offer:

Our First Years enjoyed a wonderful Adventure Society weekend away in Dorset. They overcame their fears of heights abseiling down sheer rock faces in the beautiful setting of Dancing Ledge. We all got soaked in the big canoes paddling around Brownsea Island and new friendships were formed over a mug of hot chocolate around the evening campfire. The mud slide was a huge hit, with spectators and participants cheering the boys on as they swung and slid into muddy puddles!
