Musicians from all year groups had the opportunity to display their improvisational skills in a competition run by the Music department.

Chameleon by Herbie Hancock was the chosen track with pupils being asked to play along and improvise as best as they could for up to a minute. Pupils played a range of instruments in their entries, including the piano, electric guitar, flugel horn and saxophone.

The best entries have been compiled into a highlights video, which can be found below. Well done to everyone who entered! Particular congratulations go to the winners of the competition:

  • Years 1-5: Tommy Skeffington, Third Year, Keyboard
  • Sixth Form: Nathan Newell, Lower Sixth, Saxophone
