It has been a successful first full week of guided home learning at e-Hampton 2.0 with pupils across all year groups embracing their return to the online classroom with characteristic Hamptonian enthusiasm. During the national lockdown, our boys are undertaking a combination of independent learning tasks (set through our pupil and parent portal, Firefly) and periods of ‘live’ contact time with teachers using the Microsoft Teams video conferencing platform.
Hampton’s teaching staff has come up with a variety of creative and ingenious ways to deliver their courses online. For example, this week’s live sessions have seen First Years investigating seed dispersal in Biology and the advance of technology in French. Meanwhile, our Lower Sixth studying English Language have been exploring media terminology and Upper Sixth Musicians have been performing for each other and examining compositional techniques. And our Lower School Historians have been exploring key events in the Middle Ages while our young Mathematicians have tackled some fiendishly difficult problems.
