A portrait by Lower Sixth Artist Oscar Nolan has been selected to go on display at the National Portrait Gallery as part of the ‘BP Portrait Award: Next Generation’ exhibition.

Oscar took part in a three-day workshop, during which he learnt new art techniques, interviewed award-winning artists, and worked with a model to create his own work.

The workshop was led by professionals from the art industry, including artist Alastair Adams, who is best known for his commissioned portraits of former Prime Minister Tony Blair.

I particularly enjoyed following Alastair’s painting process, and seeing his preliminary sketches.

More information about the project can be found on the National Portrait Gallery website.
