Our Fifth Year boys have achieved exceptionally strong GCSE results, which are the culmination of months of effort, application and determination. They have established very strong foundations for A Level and Pre-U study and are in an excellent position to make the most of life in the Sixth Form.
Hamptonians achieved superb results, with over half of the grades awarded being 9s and 78% of grades at 9-8 (A*). A remarkable total of 83 boys achieved straight 9-8 (A*) grades, over a third of whom gained ten or more grade 9s.
The Headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, observed:
Our Fifth Years are wonderful young men and their exceptional results represent just reward for years of hard work and commitment. After all the challenges they have experienced since March and indeed during a tumultuous and controversial week for our public examination system, these excellent outcomes are an accurate reflection of the superb manner in which our boys have approached their GCSE studies. I am very grateful indeed for the diligence and professionalism shown by our teaching staff in producing such carefully considered and fair centre assessed grades.
These boys now add stellar GCSE achievements to all that they have already contributed to Hampton life. They they have enjoyed enormous success on our sports fields – with their national U16A and B Football titles being a particular highlight; they have raised the roof of The Hammond Theatre in ensembles, orchestras and Rock Concerts; they have entertained audiences in our drama productions, won national awards in Art, and argued persuasively at Model United Nations competitions. Their tremendous academic results, achieved alongside such wholehearted commitment to our co-curricular programme, mean that this multi-talented year group can look forward to their Sixth Form studies with confidence. Congratulations, boys – we are enormously proud of you!
