Hampton’s chess players are doing what they love most to help raise funds for the NHS. 2018 British Chess Champion and School Vice-Captain, Koby Kalavannan, has teamed up with First Year fellow chess enthusiast Zaid Ahmed to run a weekly online chess tournament.

We thought it would a fun way of helping our amazing healthcare workers in the NHS.

Costing £2 to enter, all donations are being given to two charities: The Royal Medical Benevolent Fund and the student medical charity Medic Mentor. To date, the tournaments along with the boys’ other fundraising initiatives, have helped raise over £1,500. Koby says all abilities are welcome to take part in the chess tournaments which are fun and exciting. To enter click here.

I’m looking forward to seeing some fireworks over the virtual chess boards on Saturday at 3pm! Don’t miss it!
