This year’s Lower School Musical saw young actors from Hampton and Waldegrave School bring the story of Dorothy and her ruby slippers to life in a spectacular and colourful adventure.

Running for three nights, The Wizard of Oz was superbly acted by the cast of 50, accompanied by a band of musicians who performed the challenging score with aplomb. The young dramatists transported the Hammond Theatre along the yellow brick road in a production filled with energy, verve and lots of fun.

Head of Drama at Hampton, Mrs Jo James, praised the cast, crew and orchestra:

It has been fantastic to see the progress the pupils have made. Many of the cast have never been on stage before and this has been a brilliant opportunity for them to learn and to shine.
