The School gathered for a special assembly to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2020 and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

The assembly was run by boys from the Hampton School genocide awareness campaign group Genocide80Twenty, who have been involved in a range of awareness-raising projects in recent weeks from publishing a newspaper to organising a talk by 88-year-old Auschwitz survivor Zigi Shipper.

In the moving assembly, every Hamptonian held up an image of one of 1.1 million men, women and children who were killed at Auschwitz-Birkenau. They were asked to take the picture and short biography of the victim home with them in memory of those who perished.
