Hampton welcomed governors, parents, recent leavers and current pupils to the 2018-19 Senior Prizegiving celebration. This year’s guest speaker was quantum physicist, bestselling author, and BBC host Professor Jim Al-Khalili.
The Senior Prizegiving ceremony saw awards presented to more than 200 Hamptonians for excelling inside and outside the classroom during the previous academic year. Last year’s School Captain, James Thompson, was presented with the prestigious Fitzwygram Cup, while Tom Morrison received the Dennis King Cup in recognition for his service to the School. The Joe Bertram Cup, which recognises a pupil whose time at the School epitomised the Hampton ethos of aiming for personal best while supporting those around them with kindness, was awarded to Louis Lynagh.
The Headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, congratulated the boys on their achievements during an exceptional year even by Hampton standards. Wishing our recent leavers good luck with their future endeavours, he urged them to use what they had learned and experienced during their time at Hampton to make a difference:
I hope your time at Hampton has sent you on to the next stage of your lives full of joy, with moral purpose and conviction, and equipped with plenty of knowledge. I urge you to make the gift of your Hampton education a springboard to shape your lives and to influence those of others for the better.
