Hampton’s Chess players have chalked up a School record this season. The First, Second and Third Teams all won their division of the Surrey League after winning 20 out of their overall 23 matches.

The Hampton School Fourth Chess team also performed well coming third in their league. Captain of Chess for the School, Koby Kalavannan, who is currently the U18 British Chess Champion, commented:

I’m thrilled to have captained the First Team to another League victory and would like to thank everyone for their hard work and sustained efforts. Winning the top three league titles this year, gives us great confidence going into next season and with this momentum, we hope to emulate the success of the 1st XI footballers and achieve the Football and Chess National Champions double – a feat, yet to be achieved by any school!
