Third Year pupil Victor Smirnov has been named Young Games Inventor of the Year after devising his own board game. Victor entered the competition run by the Green Board Games company along with hundreds of other young games designers from across the country.

Victor’s impressive strategy game Terra Draconum was voted for by the public as well as a panel of judges and involves players invading and occupying enemy islands using dragons, spells and a currency of ‘skulls.’ Victor was presented with his prize, his height in board games,  at the annual Toy Fair in London.

It was really unexpected when I heard that I’d won the Young Games Inventor competition but it was really exciting. I really hope to see my game brought to life and play it with all my friends.
