The last week of the Autumn Term began with the popular annual Hampton and LEH Christmas Quiz, an opportunity to answer fiendish festive trivia and raise money for our Form Charity partners. One of our Charity Committee members, Alex Fagan, reports on the fun:

A large number of our Lower School pupils gathered in the main hall on Tuesday to take part in the Christmas Quiz. The charity committees of Hampton and LEH, overseen by Mrs Samuel, put on the event to raise money for form charity whilst getting in the spirit of Christmas.

Emphatically hosted by the School Librarian Mr Hemsley, boys from First and Second Year joined forces with their counterparts from LEH to compete in rounds which included guessing celebrities, company logos and famous Christmas films. Judging from the cheers as a scene from Home Alone flashed up on the screen, it is fair to say that everyone involved enjoyed the occasion.

A great deal of preparation had been going on behind the scenes in the run-up to the quiz, from writing the questions to sourcing the Santa hats, ensuring it was a resounding success.

The winning team, consisting of Hamptonians and LEH girls, were rewarded with an edible prize for their efforts. All of the proceeds from the event were donated to Form Charity, helping those in the local community and further away to enjoy their Christmas as much as possible.

Hampton pupils have chosen four new charities to support during this academic year: REACT, Dementia UK, Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) and ActionAid. So far, over £2,400 has been raised for our charity partners and Hamptonians throughout the School are busy collecting items for the Food Bank and Shooting Star Hospice charity shops. Many more fund-raising activities are planned during the Spring Term.
