Second Year, Hayden Christian, has enjoyed a remarkable few months on the athletics track breaking county and borough records and ranking 2nd in the country for the U13 Pentathlon.

Starting his Second Year with a win, Hayden competed at the Surrey Combined Events Championships where he finished 1st in the U13 Pentathlon, with three victories in the 75m Hurdles, High Jump and 800m. This places him second in the country in this event.

The Middlesex Track and Field Championships also saw great success for Hayden, as he broke the County record in the 75m Hurdles. He achieved similar victories at the Richmond Borough Athletics Championships where he broke the 75m Hurdles borough record accompanied by a winning performance in the Long Jump.

Hayden has been part of the Woking Athletics Club for the past two years focusing on sprint training. Coming to Hampton gave him the opportunity to develop these skills and discover the Pentathlon, which includes five different events: Long Jump, Hurdles, Shot Put, High Jump and 800m.

Speaking about Hayden’s achievements, Head of PE, Mr Paul Bolton said:

Hayden enjoyed a fantastic season of athletics in First Year, which bodes particularly well for future events. He demonstrated great potential in the combined events, with his recent Pentathlon success ranking him 2nd in the country.
