Jamie Lashley has achieved a 2nd Dan (black belt) in Karate, a discipline he has been practising since the age of six.
Jamie trained rigorously in the months building up to the latest grading, a test that consisted of a series of ten kilometre runs, as well as Kumite (fighting). The Kumite included a number of fights against one and two people, in a 30 minute period.
The final stage of the test was to perform five black belt routines, which totalled over 50 individual karate moves.
Jamie’s achievements mean he can now register with the English Karate Federation, as well as being able to try out for Team GB’s Olympic Squad, in the build up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
